How to use a wire-loop needle threader
A wire-loop threader carries a folded section of thread through the eye. Both the wire and that fold need room to pass. If they resist, stop; a threader cannot make an unsuitable eye larger.

Pass the empty loop through the eye
Hold the threader by its handle and the needle by its shaft. The fine loop should enter without forcing; keep the needle point away from your hand.
Put one thread end through the loop
Pass a short length through the exposed loop. Do not fill it with the whole skein or several unnecessary folds.
Draw the loop back gently
Support the needle and pull the threader back through the eye. Stop if the wire bends sharply or the folded thread catches.
Release the thread and set the tail
Remove the thread from the loop. For single-thread sashiko, leave one short tail beside the eye and one longer working end.

Check the device before following the steps

If it will not pass
Try the recommended needle/thread pairing and inspect the threader for damaged wire. Do not pull until it snaps or switch to an unknown tool with the same name. Remove the needle from the loose threader when putting your tools away.
