Which tool should I try first?
For your first sashiko project, start with the practice square above. For a repair, measure the worn area and open the mending planner. The kogin designer is for horizontal counted stitch charts on evenweave cloth.
What should I check before stitching?
Print PDFs at actual size and measure the 50 mm scale check. Try your chosen thread, needle and marking method on spare cloth. On-screen colours are a colour study; real thread shades can look different.
