How to choose scissors for fabric
Choose scissors for the fabric and length of cut. A compact pair with a fine point can be useful beside a stitching project, but it is not automatically a good tool for cutting a whole garment panel.

A concrete size comparison
The Canary DSB-100 and DSB-100C listed here are 105 mm overall, with 24 mm blades. The curved model changes the tip path, not the blade length. Their manufacturer describes precise craft work; neither is presented here as a full-length dressmaking shear.

Keep a suitable pair you already own
For your first sashiko scrap, existing scissors that cleanly cut the chosen material may be enough. Buy a different tool when the present one cannot perform the actual cut. Test an offcut first, and keep sharp points away from a hidden layer you want to preserve.
